Hola. Como estas? Bien.
I have to admit I’m a little intimidated by the idea of keeping a blog. I’ve tried and left so many to the wayside that it seems a bit impractical at this point – but I like WordPress, I’ve heard good things, and I’m ready to go.
They have this fun little tutorial thing in the beginning that helps you narrow down what your blog is going to be about. But, I always knew what my blog was going to be about – Writing and Reading. Not in that order, and certainly not with any kind of preference.
I have come to find that I am extremely interested in the YA genre, and so a lot of my blogs will be reviews of all the YA stuff out there, good and bad, and I’m going to tell it to you straight. I realized that I am kind of a librarian for a lot of my friends and family. I give them my books to read, I ask them what they are interested in and then pick out selections, I devour all the new material coming out – so I think it’s a safe bet that you’ll see a lot of book reviews on here, and can trust that I’m at least being honest.
And if you know me at all – you know I’m a writer. Not saying I’m going to post anything I’m currently writing – GOD NO – I learned my lesson the last three times. But there will be links, and updates, and spoilers and the such. So hopefully that will be exciting as well.
As for the header of my blog – it’s one of my favorite phrases in the English language. And I owe it all to the X-File’s for the episode “Milagro”. And yes – that was an X-File’s reference. Prepare yourself – I am a geek and I’m not afraid to show it.
Enjoy!
Yay! Excited to have you back!! Iwas recently mourning our long lost myspace book club
Thanks Sara! I’ve missed our book club too! I feel like I’m always three books ahead of everyone. Maybe I can add a book club page to this blog and we can start it up again!
Count me in! Are you interesting to find out how they portray Extremely Loud And Incredibly Close???
Oh man – I’m not sure. I could barely get through the first half of that book. It was just so soul-suckingly depressing and yet beautiful all at the same time. If you tell me that it gets easier to read I’ll finish it and have a more educated opinion on that. But otherwise…perhaps you can be a guest blogger and post your thoughts here?
Soul sucking is right! Very much reminded me of the same feelings I had watching What Dreams May Come. Hard to read but worth it in the end. I’m going to read it again in anticipation of the movie. I’ll let you know.
